Concussion Education Webinar Series

Headway will be hosting a series of FREE webinars interviewing a number of health professionals about concussions beginning in August and continuing through the fall. We plan to discuss everything from the science behind the injury itself to prevention strategies, treatments, diagnostic tools, and how to optimize your overall brain health. 

Headway believes that educating the general public is key to improving concussion management. We hope that coaches, athletes, clinicians, parents and patients will use these opportunities to learn more about concussions directly from the experts.

Dr. Mark Herceg is the Director of the Gaylord Center for Brain Health and the Center for Concussion Care. An active member of Sports Neuropsych Society, he is at the forefront of concussion management research.  He is also a proud member of our Medical Advisory Board.


Mark Asanovich is a fourteen-year National Football League (NFL)
veteran Strength & Conditioning Coach who has been actively engaged as a researcher, speaker and co-author in evidence-based strategies for proactively mitigating the severity and frequency of cervical spine injury and traumatic brain injury through head & neck strengthening. 

Dr. Bryce Appelbaum is a Neuro-Optometrist who specializes in the evaluation and treatment of vision problems associated with acquired brain injury. He is a board certified fellow of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD) and is the clinical director of Appelbaum Vision, PC.

This is a great webinar for athletes, coaches, and parents as we dive into the topic of neck strength and the potential for concussion prevention. The webianr will be about 40 mins long including a live QnA at the end.

Dr. Michael Lewis MD, MPH, MBA, FACPM, FACN, Colonel (retired), U.S. Army is an expert in brain health and TBI management.  He founded the Brain Health Education and Research Institute in 2011 when he retired as a Colonel after a distinguished 31 year career in the U.S. Army and also runs his own private practice, BrainCARE in Potomac, MD.


Terry Moore, B.Sc., M.Sc., PhD (abd)

Terry is a Neuromuscular & Cardiovascular Physiologist and the developer/founder of MyoWorx Concussion Treatment.  He has been in clinical practice since 1988, specializing in chronic pain and post concussion syndrome.  Terry has a clinical practice in Guelph, Ontario, Canada.  Terry’s publications range in the areas of muscle physiology to chronic back pain, repetitive strain and post concussion syndrome.

Dr. Hubbard is a chiropractic neurologist based out of Marquette, MI. She is a board member of the American College of Chiropractic Neurology, a fellow of the American College of Functional Neurology, American Board of Vestibular Rehabilitation and the American Board of Brain Injury and Rehabilitation
